Before, I ever became a moderator in the seminar or talk shows, but not in English. The experience of being a moderator in this event (NETS 2013) were exciting and learning experience for me ...
I will share the experience of being a moderator at the event, my job description and my guide moderator script
Moderator’s Job:
• Check with your speakers to ensure that they have all AV equipment they will need, check out that it all works, make sure that you know how to dim the lights, etc.
• Be available to help out as needed.
• If the session begins to drag, interject a question or try to liven it up in some creative way…sometimes if you write important points on a flip chart, it will at least give participants someplace else to focus.
• Keep track of the time. Let the speaker(s) know when the session is 10, 5, and 2 minutes from ending. Be sure to stand up at the end of the session to indicate that it is time to break and interrupt if you have to.
• Thank the speaker(s) and present each of them with a thank you gift.

1. Thank you for mister & mistress of ceremony for getting me speaking as moderator here… Hi ladies and gentleman, may I have your attention.
2. First of all, let us thank to Allah SWT which gave us blessing and healthy, so we can gather on this event, Inspirational Speech session in NETS 2013... And the 2nd is to our greatest prophet, Rasulullah Muhammad SAW who guided us to the right way.
3. The honorable Mr. HM. Rasyad Zein as Chief of Regional Muhammadiyah Board of Pekanbaru…. The honorable Mr. Tri Ismu Husnan from Muhammadiyah School of Yogyakarta The honorable Mr. M. Solihin as Principal of Muhammadiyah Elementary School 4 Pucang The honorable Mr. HM. Abduh Hisyam as Chief of Regional Muhammadiyah Board of Kebumen
4. Dear brothers and sisters, my moslem family. Good afternoon….
5. Happy audiences and attending this inspirational speech session, in this beautiful chance I would like to try speak at front of you all about attending…
6. Allow us to introduce the speakers of this session: Inspirational Speech… This is HM. Rasyad Zein; he is Chief of Regional Muhammadiyah Board of Pekanbaru Beside him is Mr. Tri Ismu Husnan from Muhammadiyah School of Yogyakarta, he is 2nd source man of inspirational speech, And beside Mr. Tri Ismu Husnan is Mr. M. Solihin as Principal of Muhammadiyah Elementary School 4 Pucang, he is 3rd source man, And the last sepaker is Mr. HM. Abduh Hisyam as Chief of Regional Muhammadiyah Board of Kebumen, And me Ugung DA Wibowo as moderator
7. From Jabir, Rasulullah Muhammad SAW said, خَيْرُ النَّاسِ أَنْفَعُهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ
“Khoirunnas, anfauhum linnas…”
“The best of men are the most beneficial to others… Sebaik-baik manusia adalah yang paling bermanfaat bagi manusia lainnya.” [Hasan: Shahih Al-Jami’ no. 3289]
Not only Rasul, a legend scientist, Albert Einstein said too: “don’t try to be a man of success, try to be a man of value instead”.
8. So, we are very lucky because now, in front of you, standing people who have inspirational story, and they will share to you their result of thought and their experience of life in their speech, so you can take the hikmah or the wisdom from the speechs…
9. OK audiences, I would like to welcome the 1st source man to deliver the inspirational speech and inspirational story. All right, HM. Rasyad Zein the floor is yours, for about ten minutes.
